Margi is a 100% Rhine Riesling. It is produced in a traditional style for our wine region. This Riesling matches perfectly with lamb and pork. It was awarded in 2013 at San Francisco International Wine Competition with bronze medal and year after was given 89 points from Robert Parker.

MEANING OF THE NAME
Margvs Margi is the Latin name for the Serbian river ‘Velika [Greate] Morava’ which flows through the Župa region.

Župa, Zapadna [West] Morava Region, Serbia.

100% Rhine Riesling.

SOIL
The vineyards lay on sedimentary terrain, with clay soil.
YIELD
1000 gr to 1500 gr per plant.
TRANING SYSTEM
Double spur cordon.
HARVEST
September and October
VINIFICATION
De-stemming and cold maceration of the must. Medium pressing. Static clearing. Fermentation in oak casks. Only natural yeasts are used and no temperature control.
AGING
Margvs Margi is aged for three to seven (3-7) years in old Serbian oak casks, 2000L and 5000L.Raking occur every 6 months; no filtration is done before bottling.
TASTING NOTES
Margvs Margi is a 100% Rhine Riesling. It is produced in a traditional style for our wine region.
Color: Light gold color.
Aroma: Very surprising freshness with some toasty and buttery notes, scent of petroleum and moderate and elegant presence of oak.
On the palate: strong but pleasant and sophisticated acids. This wine has a full spectrum of apple flavors as well as clean citrus notes and tertiary aromas. This Riesling matches perfectly with lamb and pork. It was awarded in 2013 at San Francisco International Wine Competition with bronze medal and year after was given 89 points from Robert Parker.
