TRIADA PROKUPAC


Triada red is made from a Serbian indigenous variety called Prokupac and that is blended with a splash of Merlot. It is a modern wine with a traditional spirit.It matches well with red as well as cured meat, a variety of cheeses, and dark chocolate with chili, herbs and spices. In 2013 vintage 2007 has won bronze medal at China Wine and spirits awards, in 2016 gold medal at same competition, in 2014 88 points for vintage 2008 from Robert Parker, and same number of points for vintage 2010.

MEANING OF THE NAME
Triada (the Greek word for ‘trinity’) which in our Winery symbolizes “my land, my family, my wine”.

SOIL
The vineyards lay on sedimentary terrain, rich in clay, calcareous as well as sandy or gravel soils.
YIELD
800 gr to 2000 gr per plant.
TRAINING SYSTEM
Double cordon spur, gigot and classic freestanding vines.
HARVEST
Late September, early October.
VINIFICATION
Fermentation and maceration for a minimum of twenty days.
AGING
Triada Prokupac is aged for thirty-six (36) months in French and Serbian oak wood, which are up to four (4) years old. The casks hold 225 L, 500 L, 3000 L and 5000 L.
TASTING NOTES

Color: Deep ruby red.
Aroma: Aromas of red fruits, black cherry, menthol, and leather.
On the palate: Concentrated, dry, soft and velvety with well-integrated tannins.
It matches well with red as well as cured meat, a variety of cheeses, and dark chocolate with chili, herbs and spices. In 2013 vintage 2007 has won bronze medal at China Wine and spirits awards, in 2016 gold medal at same competition, in 2014 88 points for vintage 2008 from Robert Parker, and same number of points for vintage 2010.
